As the last capital of the ancient Khmer Empire, Angkor Thom keeps a wealth of monuments which claim it was, as its name implies, a Great City. Your discovery of the great city will start from its south gate lined with giant statues on sides, gods in the left and devils in the right. In it, you will not miss Bayon Temple or the Elephant Terrace. The former is a pyramid-shaped building complex composed of a multitude of pagodas at different sizes and each pagoda has four smiling Buddha faces on the four sides.

Afternoon, proceed to Angkor Wat, the most iconic architecture of Cambodia and the shining star of anyone’s Cambodia tour. In the evening, witness the sunset on Bakheng Hill or at the less crowded Pre Rup Temple.
