Family Tour in Beijing

Upon arrival in Beijing (PEK or PKX), your English-speaking guide will be waiting for you at the arrival hall of the airport or exit of the railway station in Beijing. Then transfer to downtown Beijing and check-in at your hotel. Take the rest of the day at your leisure.

Things to do for today: Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Hutong Area, facial makeup for the Peking Opera

After breakfast, your guide will show you around Tiananmen Square as the first stop today. As the largest city square in the world, Tiananmen Square covers an area of 440,000 square meters. Most of the important national celebrations will be held at this square.

Then we will specially organize a Treasure Hunt activity for your family in the Forbidden City. Your guide will give you some clues, and you need to find all the correct places or items in the palace according to the clues.

It is more interesting for the kids to learn the history and stories about the Forbidden City compared with the regular tour of this imperial palace. Lunch will be arranged at a local restaurant nearby.

After lunch, it is time for some local interaction. Your guide will take you to the Hutong Area (old alleys in Beijing) and you will visit a local family. You will see the locals' life, houses, and what the quadrangle courtyard looks like.

Then there is an opportunity to apply facial makeup for the Peking Opera. You will learn some basic skills of Peking Opera facial makeup on a mask under the guidance of your teacher. Then you can take it back home as a souvenir.

Things to do for today: Temple of Heaven, the Great Wall of Mutianyu Section

This morning, we are going to visit the Temple of Heaven, which was a royal temple where the emperors worshiped Heaven in the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1912 CE). Nowadays, there are always lots of residents doing exercise and dancing in the morning. You can learn the history, see the locals’ life and you will learn more about this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

As this is the most well-known historical site in China, we would never forget to arrange a visit to the Great Wall for you. You will arrive at the Great Wall of Mutianyu Section after lunch. You will be amazed when you are standing on the wall. Taking a cable car up to the wall and going down the wall by the toboggan makes it an extra exciting experience for the kids.

Things to do for today: China Science and Technology Museum, 798 Art Zone

This morning, meet your guide and driver in your hotel lobby and drive to China Science and Technology Museum. This museum is the only comprehensive museum of science and technology at the national level in China. There are so many interesting exhibition contents designed to invite visitors’ participation and interaction. You will be able to learn more about Chinese science, inventions and history from here.

We will go for a visit to the 798 Art Zone in the afternoon. In 2003, Beijing 798 Art Zone was rated as one of the 22 most culturally iconic art centers in the world by "Time". This place attracted a large number of artists due to its modern artistic features. There are lots of galleries, art centers, artists' studios, design companies and fashion shops.

After breakfast, our guide and driver will send you to Beijing Airport (PEK or PKX) or the railway station according to your schedule. You will depart Beijing and go to the next destination.
